Hovercraft
As requested I have obtained some pics from Brian Clewes's Hovercraft.
The motors are 900 Kv with 80 amp Escs the lift fan is a 7 blade ducted fan, the thrust prop is a 12in x7in cut down to 10in.
Battery is 14.8v 5000Ma.

- Dave MVizeadmiralOne of our members used a couple of old drone bits to make a twin prop version with steerable nozzles. Worked OK but very twitch as only a small craft like yours and the motors were powerful.Gefällt von Martin555 and RNinMunich

This is Brian Clewes Hovercraft on a frozen Boundary Park Lake in Cheshire UK.
Our resident cob swan and his wife were sat on the ice probably hoping we had brought some feed. They don't bother us and we leave them alone. I should have filmed them taking off later, not an easy task on ice for one of our largest birds.
The hovercraft has two brushless motors and uses a LiPo.

An old favourite from my hovercraft phase. Runs really well on land and especially water. Although no reverse, it will auto-rotate on the hover, so when pointing in the desired direction on with the propulsion with the brushless motor and away she flies.
Realistic in operation. Looking a bit work worn now. Could do with up-dating with Lipo batteries which would make it even lighter. Seen here with lift motor running with skirt inflated. Steering
interesting, with twin air rudders. Must get some videos of the action.

Always interesting things to watch Hovercraft and these were 3 very different types.

Palaform Griffon 600 RNLI
A 600mm long model hovercraft built from a kit using Depron polysyrene. Excellent kits and extremely light, quick on the water and very quick on polished surfaces such as sports halls. Contact Palaform for further info. Just Google them. Use styrofoam paint to decorate otherwise you risk melting the polystyrene.

- tonymidRekrutFran Oakey designed the Griffon 600 as a wooden model.
Originally called the MM600 it used 2mm liteply without any lightning holes.
It is heavier than the Depron version but will operate in rougher water and higher wind speeds. Takes the knocks better too. - reilly4Warrant OfficerThat looks like a flooded road that the model is sitting on. Looks like the police there to control traffic!

One of my favourite RC shows of the year. The Southern Model Show has a bit of everything. The temporary boating pond is used by about 6 clubs who demonstrate their various watercraft to the appreciation of the visiting public.

MY OWN DESIGN HOVERCRAFT & SKIRT FILM ON LOCATION AT GARLIESTON SCOTLAND, 10 inc THREE BLADE PROP, OUTRUNNER MOTOR, 12 VOLT LIPO BATTERIES.

- THECAPT2012ObermatroseThanks Don for your comments, My hovercraft is scratch built,the skirt is unique because it has no holes for lift, the lift comes from slots under the hull, making it fast on land and water. Was that you travelling south on the M6 motorway with your craft Sat 8th?Gefällt von Martin555

Griffon 2000 TD
Built from light ply and balsa from a plan available on the Model Hovercraft Association website (under resources) www.modelhover.org it is powered by two 540 brushed motors with dedicated speed controllers.
This model has now been sold and replaced with a newly built Canadian Coastguard Griffon 2000TD built off a Mark Porter plan but using two Graupner Speed 600 motors, one powered by a 3000 Li-Po battery for thrust and the other on a 7.2v Ni-Cad for lift.

and also the military version 2000TD(M).
The model is described as a GRIFFON so I am guessing that I should be able to find out more about the model online - maybe there is a commercially available kit for it?
I will see what I can find out about building and running an r/c hovercraft.
The club are a great bunch of guys with a wide range of model knowledge and I enjoy being able the share media from such an enthusiastic club.
Rob is the website manager who sent me the video clip - I thought it too good not to share through my RCSailing channel while experimenting with "Youtube shorts".
P.S my channel is not monetarised - its just for fun.
